Welcome!

Welcome to Confessions of an Ex-Childcare Worker!

Hi, my name is Melissa Gempton and I am the Parent Consultant at Melissa Gempton’s Parent Consultancy. We’ve been in operation since July 2017.  At the end of last year, I decided to get creative with my marketing, so I thought “Why not start a blog?”

I want you all to get to know me better and blogging is a great way to reach a wider audience and I want to help you to understand where I’ve come from and how I got here. Let’s face it, saying I have ten years of experience in the industry, really isn’t enough evidence as to why you should trust in my services. But maybe, telling you about my experiences in the field will.

My posts will be centred on my experiences in the field with the five core areas in my business woven in. To break things up a bit, every second week I will write a review of some of my favourite children’s books, which will include a link to Amazon if you wish to buy them.
But, before we begin this journey together, you may be wondering “What are the five core areas in your business Mel?” I’m glad you asked! My business offers five services aimed at helping you understand your child better and helping you to help your child. These are:

  • ·        Child Development
  • ·        Behaviour Management
  • ·        Toilet Training
  • ·        What to look for in a childcare centre and
  • ·        Understanding the Early Years Learning Framework

I won’t be going into too much detail about these services (That’s why you should book an appointment!). But I will be briefly discussing them as I take you through my journey.

If you’re already intrigued, and are champing at the bit to come and see me (LOL!), below is a link to my scheduling calendar as well as my contact details.
